This is a quote from “On Writing Well” by William Zinsser and something I struggle with when writing tutorials.

I always fall back to the boring style of — do this, then this, next that, and finally this. Tutorials and advanced concepts are more accessible if written like a person and not like a developer.

Tell a story, make it interesting, and draw the reader in.
